Susan Flynn is Alumni Volunteer of the Year 2021 at the University of Manchester

All of us connected with Chifundo UK want to say "Congratulations and Well Done" to Susan Flynn, our Founder and Chairperson of Chifundo UK who has been awarded the Alumni Volunteer of the Year Award 2021 at the University of Manchester. Independent judges considered nominations that had been made earlier in the year for staff, alumni and students. The panel consisted of staff, Students' Union and Alumni representatives and partners from community organisations. Volunteering took place locally, nationally and internationally.

Susan Flynn was the winner in the Alumni category and received the University Medal for Social Responsibility, part of the suite of established President's Distinguished Achievement Awards plus a certificate. Chifundo UK will receive a donation of £300 to support the work in Malawi. Helen Foote, the University's Senior Alumni Officer said, 'On behalf of all my colleagues in the Division of Development and Alumni Relations, I wanted to congratulate you on your very well deserved Volunteer of the Year Award last week. It has been inspirational to learn about the support you have given to girls and women through Chifundo UK and Chanasa Malawi.' Susan was also told she was the unanimous choice of the judging panel, so very many congratulations!

The Award ceremony was a virtual one and the video below is of the announcement that Susan won the Alumni category.
